What is a cookie ?

A cookie is an information on your hard drive by the server of the website whom you visit.The cookie’s aim is to collect informations about your web navigation and to suggest contents and services adapted to your interests. It contains severals datas :

  • The name of the server which deposit it ;
  • An user name in the form of unique number ;
  • Possibly, an expiration date of cookies…

Sometimes, these informations are situated on your computer in a simple text file which a server reaches to read and record informations.
